There are countless ideas out there about what “self-care” really means. Is it a spa day with all the treats and a glass of bubbles? Cutting out all processed sugar? A weekend away with your besties? Eating a box of your personal to-die-for treats in your slippers and pajamas while you binge a Netflix series? Hiking to the top of a mountain to meditate? Or maybe making time to keep your hair, nails, and brows fabulous, looking your best?
Happily, self-care can include all of those things (HOORAY! Some of them sound SO good to me!) if they serve a certain purpose. And that’s exactly what this workshop is about: understanding that there is so much more to self-care.
What if I told you that self-care might also include sitting down and getting your taxes done—and not quitting until they’re finished? Or cleaning out that fridge? Or opening that cupboard full of everything you’d rather ignore (how many of us have one of those?) and finally sorting it all out? Where’s the line, the sweet spot, between self-indulgence and self-punishment?
A lot of that depends on you—on what you need. Self-care isn’t one-size-fits-all. Its purpose is to create a happier, more productive, less stressed, and healthier YOU—physically, emotionally, and mentally.
This gentle workshop will help you figure out what you need for your personal version of self-care. We’ll discuss, we’ll create, and you’ll leave with a beautiful, useful object that you’ve put your own creative touch into. This object will help you stay in touch with what you’ve learned and the intentions you’ve set around your Serious Self Care, carrying it forward into your life.
